Dr. Yasser Salem M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Yasser Salem is a board-certified endoscopic surgeon serving Huntington Beach and the greater Orange County area. For more than 20 years, patients have turned to Dr. Salem because of his reputation for extraordinary treatment outcomes and exceptional patient care. He is committed to restoring the appearance of varicose and spider veins using medical techniques that are as minimally invasive as possible. That commitment has led to spectacular transformations for thousands of patients - many of whom now bare their legs with confidence, rather than hide them in embarrassment.

Dr. Salem is a 1995 graduate of Wayne State University, where he received his medical degree in the top third of his class. He went on to participate in a three-year general surgery residency at Cleveland's Huron Hospital and a subsequent two-year residency at Pittsburgh's Western Penn/Temple University Hospital. During that time, Dr. Salem's work earned him much recognition, including the designation, "Resident of the Year" and honors for excellence in research.

Dr. Salem currently maintains membership in several professional organizations, including the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the American Medical Association and the local Orange County Medical Association. He is a fellow at the American Board of Surgery and also a long-time member of the prestigious American College of Surgeons - an association of peers that has been raising the standard for surgical education and practice for more than 100 years.

Today, Dr. Salem performs more than 100 operations per month using the latest in medical technology. In addition to varicose vein treatment, Dr. Salem also provides hernia repair, breast care, and surgical treatment for wounds, abdominal, thyroid, appendix, gallbladder, vascular, colon and rectal conditions. He is highly skilled in the TIFF procedure, which has revolutionized the surgical landscape for chronic heartburn and GERD patients visiting him at his acid reflux treatment center, OC Reflux.

Dr. Salem enjoys a bevy of sports and extracurricular activities, including soccer, volleyball and basketball. When he isn't spending time with patients, chances are he is relaxing with his family or scoring goals for his league soccer team.
